DataVizion Provides a Better Connection for Long-Term Care Facilities

Vetter Health Services was founded in 1974 and has been known for delivering the best in quality health care ever since. These days delivering the best in health care also includes delivering a seamless wireless experience that residents have come to expect. Whether it’s keeping in touch with friends and family or being able to video conference in on an event a resident can’t physically be present at, there’s no doubt that being able to stay connected to the outside world positively impacts a residents quality of life.

In addition, with the increased adoption of electronic health records, Vetter Health Services team members need to be able to securely access health care documents and charts electronically throughout the facilities.

With 30 locations and more than 3,000 team members, Vetter Health Services has a relatively small IT team. As the company continues to grow and technology changes, the team knew it was important to stay ahead of the curve with a secure and reliable network that could be centrally monitored and managed.

Solutions

Vetter Health Services turned to DataVizion to help implement a solution. After conducting a thorough assessment, DataVizion recommended Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, wireless enterprise solutions including:

• ARUBA WIRELESS ACCESS POINTS to maximize wireless performance in medium to high-density Wi-Fi environments. ClientMatch® technology makes seamless handoff between access points possible, which decreases the chances of lost signal dramatically.
• ARUBA MOBILITY CONTROLLERS to combine wireless, wired, and WAN services. With the mobility controller, zero-touch provisioning is possible making large-scale deployments a simpler process. The controller plays a vital role in managing the wireless network.
• ARUBA CLEARPASS to provide an added layer of network security with access management so IT-issued devices or Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) can safely connect to the network in compliance with the company’s security policies.

Results

Solutions have been implemented in the home office as well as three other facilities. Residents have been enjoying a more seamless wireless experience in the common areas where wireless is available. In addition, Vetter Health Services team members have secure and reliable access in meeting and conference rooms throughout the facilities.
